About
Jude Ukadilonu

Jude Ukadilonu (b. 1997, Nigeria) is a multidisciplinary artist born in Owerri, Imo State, and currently based in Osogbo.
His artistic journey began in childhood, sparked by his innate curiosity and nurtured by his parents, especially his father, who gifted him his first set of art materials on his sixth birthday. Jude grew up sketching characters from illustrated children’s books, which laid the foundation for his creative expression. He later pursued formal training at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he specialized in sculpture, developing both his technical skills and a conceptual understanding of art.
Jude’s work is a fusion of traditional Igbo philosophy and contemporary techniques, focusing primarily on human portraits and figures. His sculptures, alongside works in charcoal and acrylics, explore themes of identity, heritage, and the complexities of the human experience. Through the combination of abstract and figurative elements, Jude’s art provokes thought and invites viewers to reflect on the intersections of tradition and modernity. An alumnus of the prestigious 1952 Africa Art Residency, his work continues to evolve, enriched by the diverse artistic influences he has encountered throughout his career.
